2024 Wild Boar Cellars Sanglier Noble

$69/bottle
1

One of the very first wines produced at Stone Tower Winery, Sanglier Noble has been part of our heritage since the 2009 vintage. In French, sanglier means “wild boar,” a nod to our home on Hogback Mountain. Noble refers to the five so-called noble Bordeaux varieties—Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec—that traditionally comprise the great red blends of Bordeaux and inspire the style of Sanglier Noble. The blend changes slightly with each vintage, but Sanglier Noble consistently conveys power and richness, balanced by beautiful, fruit-forward character.

The 2023 vintage is a lovely blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and a touch of Malbec. In the glass, it displays a handsome ruby color. The nose opens with pronounced aromas of strawberry and red currant, complemented by gorgeous floral notes. The first sip delivers vibrant freshness, with flavors of strawberry and currant framed by beautifully soft tannins. The wine lingers on the finish with a lovely mélange of the fruit and floral components all wrapped in the voluptuous soft texture. This wine is a sheer delight—you may not be eager to share. Enjoy it now, or cellar it through 2034.
